LIQUID CARGOES

Western Australia trades mainly in two types of liquid cargoes PETROLEUM (crude oil, products and lubes) and CAUSTIC SODA which is instrumental in extracting alumina from bauxite. While crude oil and caustic soda are imported into Western Australia, finished petroleum products like avgas, gasoil, unleaded petrol etc., are exported. Caustic soda is mainly discharged at the Alcoa terminals at Kwinana and Bunbury, petroleum is mainly handled at BP Refinery Kwinana. A certain amount of condensate is also handled at the Woodside Terminal at Dampier.

The quantity of liquid cargo on a vessel prior to discharge or after completion of loading is usually ascertained by performing quantity surveys.

Quality surveys by lab testing of petroleum products and lube oils are also performed by us.

Western Australia produces most of the petroleum consumed in the state. INSPECTORATE COX (AUST.) perform surveys that are required for the safe loading and discharge of petroleum products, caustic soda etc. Call or email INSPECTORATE COX (AUST.) with your survey requirements or simply fill up the enquiry form on this website.
